I am an artist and educator based in Washington state whose work investigates the physical, social and psychological relationships between humans and environment.

I make jewelry, drawings, studio sculpture, site integrated and playable works for parks and schools, freestanding sculptures for civic agencies, and interior works for private commissions. I have developed and taught educational programs that reveal connections between nature and culture, visual literacy, critical thinking, and public art. In addition, I have authored, designed and illustrated public art master plans and integrated interpretive signs.

Materials add to the meaning within my work. I conscientiously use metal, glass, concrete, resin, wood, as well as organic, ephemeral, and reclaimed materials to play with effects of light, weather and the senses. Hand-worked, labor intensive processes such as weaving, cold forging and stitching reward both at first glance and invite deeper consideration. Sensory engagement with the work is key.
